The Sensor Hub recognizes when the device has been picked up and will automatically display notifications in a low-power white-on-black text until the screen has been properly activated. It is a secondary low-power processor whose purpose is to run activity-recognition algorithms by directly monitoring the device's accelerometer, gyroscope, fingerprint reader, and camera sensors, allowing the main CPU to remain inactive until something requires its attention. In order to save power, Google has introduced what it calls an 'Android Sensor Hub'. The phone is compatible with Project Fi, Google's own mobile network. The device has a fingerprint sensor on the back called 'Nexus Imprint' which can be used by third party apps. On October 4, 2016, Google presented its successor, the Google Pixel the same day, the Nexus 5X was discontinued and removed from the Google Store. The phone was widely praised by reviewers on release, although many devices later began experiencing spontaneous unrecoverable bootloops.

To recall, the last year’s Nexus 6P was released with a 5.7-inches WQHD (2560 x 1440) AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, Fingerprint and smudge-resistant oleophobic coating, a 2.0 GHz Octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon™ 810 v2.1 and Adreno 430 GPU, 3 GB LPDDR4 RAM, 32 GB / 64 GB / 128 GB storage variants. This new variant has scored 2115 points in single-core test and 4903 points in multi-core test. This new Nexus device runs on the upcoming Android N and we already know that the search engine giant has already released the two developer previews of Android N already for the Nexus devices. This new variant comes with 4GB of RAM up from 3GB RAM of the old Nexus 6P. There no information available about the upcoming Nexus 5X smartphone 2016 variant which is also expected to launch with the 2016 variant of the Nexus 6P.
But the 2015 variant of Nexus 6P was launched with Snapdragon 810, so it is confirmed that it will be the new variant of the Nexus 6P.
This new variant is listed on GeekBench with the same old name Google Nexus 6P with the new Snapdragon chipset 1.59 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 820.
